Authorities dismantle an organised crime network exploiting victims to manage cannabis farms.

Law enforcement officers executed a series of dawn raids across London as part of an ongoing investigation into modern slavery linked to organised crime. The operation aims to dismantle a criminal network suspected of forcing victims into running illicit cannabis farms.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) released footage captured by body cameras during the coordinated searches on 25 January. The video clips, filmed in Eltham, southeast London, show officers conducting detailed searches of properties believed to be connected to the illegal activities.

During the operation, three men were apprehended on suspicion of offences related to modern slavery, human trafficking, and cannabis production. The arrests mark a significant step in addressing the exploitation of vulnerable individuals by organised crime groups.

Authorities emphasised the importance of cracking down on such operations, which often involve victims being coerced or forced into illegal labour under oppressive conditions. Investigations into the extent of the network and its operations are ongoing, with further updates expected.
