Bowen’s 90th-minute strike clinches victory over Fiorentina, marking the club’s first European trophy since 1965.

Jarrod Bowen’s dramatic 90th-minute goal secured West Ham United’s 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa Conference League final on June 7, 2023, at the Fortuna Arena in Prague.

The match remained goalless until the 62nd minute when West Ham was awarded a penalty after Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi handled the ball in the box. Saïd Benrahma converted the penalty to give the Hammers the lead. However, Fiorentina equalized five minutes later through Giacomo Bonaventura’s strike.

With the match approaching its final moments, Lucas Paquetá intercepted a pass in midfield and delivered a through-ball to Bowen, who calmly slotted past Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano to secure the win.

This victory marked West Ham’s first major European trophy since 1965, when they won the Cup Winners’ Cup. Bowen’s decisive goal earned him the Player of the Match award.
