Tanaka expressed his gratitude for the time spent with Carey, writing, “With mixed emotions, I share this personal update regarding my amicable separation from Mariah Carey after seven extraordinary years together. The couple first began dating in 2016, and Tanaka reflected on the memories and artistic collaborations they created together, stating, “The memories we’ve created and the artistic collaborations are etched into my heart forever.” He went on to praise Carey’s dedication to her family and career, highlighting how she inspired him throughout their relationship. He also expressed his appreciation for Carey’s children, noting their kindness and warmth.
